Our Story

1976

Locally born and raised, Ray Von Scott Grady and Laura Lee Grady start RayLee Homes building the company one home at a time. Scott worked out in the field, Laura worked behind the scenes doing purchasing and payroll eventually growing their company to over 100 homes a year.  Their solid partnership and respect for one another provided a basis for the business philosophies and practices still used today.  Scott and Laura take pride in knowing the company they first built, working out of on pick up truck and a home office is still thriving today.

1980’s

In the 70’s Scott played football for the University of New Mexico.  His love of sports led him to renaming every floor plan after football plays (The Curl, The Hook, The Trap, etc), which has proven to be just one of the many elements that sets RayLee Homes apart from its competition.  This marketing strategy has become part of our company’s culture and eventually expanded beyond just naming floor plans.  Around this time, The Grady Family built the first every LOBO HOUSE benefiting student athletes at UNM. (RayLee Homes finished the 14th Lobo House in 2009)
